"The statue of St. John is in our possession at the parish. He's somewhat banged up and chipped and in need of a refurbishing coat of paint. Our school art teacher has offered to attend to this task. She's the same person who did the corpus on our crucifix in the main church. We hope to have St. John ready to be formally installed in the new "St. John's of St. Paul" chapel, which we have tentatively scheduled to dedicate on Christ the King weekend. We also plan to integrate the lovely framed multi-image photograph of St. John's somewhere in that space, as well as one or more of the recovered relics if we can make that happen. If we can't figure out a history for the relics, I'm wondering if either Fr. Welzbacher or the Chancellor downtown might have some ideas?

As for the other larger statues, St. Therese presently resides (in very good condition) in our 6th grade school classroom, at the request of the teacher. The two angels will be placed somewhere in a public space in St. Pascal's school. The Infant of Prague was noticed by Larry May, who must have had a history at some point with St. John's. and who asked to take custody of it in his home. Since I heard of no other interest, and since Larry is well known around here as a devout Catholic man, and since I was told that the family who donated it is now deceased, I allowed that to happen. The large statues of Mary, Sacred Heart of Jesus, and Joseph with Child Jesus have been given to the family of Dr. Stephen Hipp, my former teaching colleague at the St. Paul Seminary (professor of theology) who requested them for use in his family devotions at home with his many young children. All have offered to give modest donations for these statues, and although I don't see this as a fund-raising exercise, I am happy to see that they will all find new lives in dedicated Catholic places."

Our Statues and where they have travel too.
