Hi Everyone,

It appears our emails may not always be getting to everyone. Make sure to Reply All if it's something everyone should know. It might also be a good idea to start a new email fairly often so the thread doesn't get too long.

From what I gather, someone has rescued all or part of the cross from the dumpster and someone else took some confessional parts. I don't know about elsewhere, but here in the 'hood anything in a dumpster is fair game. The crime is to put stuff into someone's dumpster, not remove it.

I just sent an email to Father Byron concerning the fate of the remaining altars and any stained glass windows or panels that might be removed. I'll let you know what he says.

I've been talking to some neighborhood people. Many people already know about St. John's becoming an Islamic Center. I'm surprised it hasn't hit the news yet. I predict some interesting discussions when everyone finds out.

I suspect that it is being intentionally hush-hush about the Islamic center. I think there might be a lot more people than we think who might not be happy about this sort of thing, either taking place in a Catholic Church - or- in their neighborhood. Either way - not good... I'm just sick about all the veiled and untold truths.....what parish church is the next to succumb to the brutalities of our time?

"Prayer is to our soul what rain is to the soil.

Fertilize the soil ever so richly; it will remain barren unless fed by frequent rains."

Is the bell in the tower (is that the right word??) still there? Steve was concerned about that. . .

Watched this tonight, it is short, maybe eight minutes. A must see. It is so spot on with what our experience has been. I did drop Michael a note last night about what is happening from the sale to the Islamic group perspective and would encourage others to do the same. He has been instrumental in bringing the tough issues to light. Just click on the link. There is a contact button at the bottom of the page if you are interested.

Catholics need to know the truth! Please watch this Vortex episode and pass it to your family and friends.

GOD Bless you and your loved ones,

Yes, the carillon system is still in the building, but hasn't worked for a decade or so. A lightning strike destroyed it. The only part left is the antique, and unusable electronic control system in the sacristy. Even the speakers in the tower were removed a couple of years ago. There never were any bells in the tower.

Thank you Theresa for mentioning an excellent source of information about the state of the Catholic Church, St Michael media/Church Militant. I have been a supporter for the last couple of years. I have found them to be very faithful and supportive of the Pope, the Magisterium, and the true teachings of the Catholic Church. They are broadcasting information about what's going on with the Catholic Church via the Internet. They provide stories like St John's Church, I consider them a great resource for up-to-date information that's not available with most any other Catholic information system.
Faithful Catholics need to be informed to help combat the destruction of our faith in this country!
