Hello All,
This is posted on the St. Pascal's website today:
There is a front page article in the June 29th East Side Review concerning the sale of St. John's. It is much better than the one in the St. Paul Pioneer Press. It isn't available online yet but I'll send the link when it appears.
I've also attached four photos that Bill Whelan took last Monday. They show the empty shell of our once beautiful church.

I wish I had never seen these pictures. This is a sickening site. This should of never been done.

A Blessed Feast of SS. Peter and Paul to you all,
Thank you for forwarding these pictures Greg. You're right, what a difference!! A couple of interesting things I note: 1) Do they have a new sanctuary lamp? What happened to the one that we had? Did they junk that as well? 2) These pictures confirm what we had always suspected about the tile in the sanctuary and church proper. It is a reddish color. 3) One wonders what they will do with the old organ pipes. As I attempted to tell Fr. Byron on many occasions this is a very historical/ valuable instrument. My suspicions are that they will end up in a dumpster sometime soon. Greg, keep your eyes pealed. Greg and Chuck ... are you going to add these pictures to your web-sites?
I could not find the article in the Pioneer Press this morning. Could it be only in the East St. Paul version? Also, Fr. Echert made a comment about the article, and gave special recognition to those people from St. John's who are now at Holy Trinity. Also, congratulations to Chuck. He is now an EMHC at Holy Trinity, and had his "maiden voyage" this morning (although I was not there). Thanks Chuck for helping at Holy Trinity!!!!
Blessings,
Deacon Ron

The Pioneer Press edition that comes to Dakota County carried the story on the front page (with a jump) of the Local News section.
Heart-breaking photos from Bill via Greg.
Oh, if only the organ could be salvaged
….Just think of the changes a year brings!

There is a new sanctuary lamp. It is fairly small and has plain white globes. Of course without the altar there is much more light in front from those three windows that used to be behind the altar. The old sanctuary lamp was taken down and was sitting on the floor in one piece a couple of weeks ago. I assume they sold it or maybe traded it for the new one at an architectural salvage outfit.
I asked Father Byron about the organ pipes a while back. He said St. Pascal's had no plans for them and it would be up to the new owners as to their eventual fate. It was same with whatever stained glass windows or portions thereof were removed. I asked around but I didn't talk to anyone who knew what will happen to the organ pipes or where the stained glass windows went. It was fairly chaotic the other day and we visitors weren't sure who was who with respect to running the place. I'll watch for dumpsters or trucks but things happen quickly and I miss a lot.
The Pioneer Press edition I got was just labeled "St. Paul." The article was on page 1 of the Local (B). The other article was about septic sewer systems. Apparently the editor thought that was a bigger story. The article was longer and there was a large picture of a septic tank being pumped out into a truck. There wasn't any picture of St. John's in my edition.
